Urban Graffiti
comments (30)
this part of the canal runs under the inner ring road that runs round Leeds, i know graffiti is vandalism but i feel you have to agree it looks bloody good lit up like it was
You have not only captured the graffitti, the reflection, the night, everything is playing in please the photo!
tim hitchins: hope your having a great night Jose and your comment is most valued my friend
Nice one! Great light and separation of color temps!
tim hitchins: cheers Martin value your comments as always
It's very pretty lit up at night but probably not so pretty in the day time.
tim hitchins: ha, yes it doesn't quite look like this Mary i walk past and under here many times through the day and it doesn't look this nice
THIS is outstanding, love the bright colors and the reflection, great shot....the sky does it to me...
tim hitchins: oh Astrid i am so happy that you thought that, really appreciated
The eternal discussion about whether graffiti is art! How can this NOT be art! It's a lovely tribute, Tim.
tim hitchins: most appreciated Ginnie and yes i think its art also
This is just superb. I like the lighting and colours contrast!
tim hitchins: many many thanks Richard and have a goodnight
Some graffitis become art. We have a few painted-walls in Bordeaux and nobody called that vandalism. May be those ones are'nt chefs d'oeuvre but your photo make them so outstanding. Composition and colors ...
tim hitchins: lol chef's d"oeuvre, really appreciate your comment France and have a nice day
Tim the night light and the reflection make this a wonderful shot
tim hitchins: many thanks vintage
Nice one Tim!
Art is in the eye of the beholder, who says what is art and what is not art??
I like your shot Tim and to me this is art captured by an artist
tim hitchins: artist me well id do pretty good sculptures in clay, they usually end up looking like houses
I agree with Ginnie, and your photography has added something too to honour this kind of art!
tim hitchins: well thank you so much Philine, have a nice day
Grafitti could be vandalism, or it could be art - depends whether it is on your wall or someone else's
Excellent picture framed in shades of blue. I am getting worried about you crawling around under road bridges.
tim hitchins: lol, we got a wee bit worried also when the drunk was staggering towards us but then he was probs more apprehensive then us
I don't actually object to graffiti in this sort of location and it does look rather wonderful lit up like this. I love the contrast between the brightly lit wall and the deep blue of the sky.
Ingrid
tim hitchins: cheers Ingrid really happy you liked it
I agree with everyone
This graffiti must have impressed Ginnie...she never mentioned the crane!
This is an excellent shot Tim.
tim hitchins: lol, lol, yes its unusual for Ginnie to miss a crane
The contrast between the light above and below the bridge is amazing - and you captured it beautifully. Congratulations!
tim hitchins: thank you Carla really happy you thought that and have a good night
Great artwork! Nice shot.
tim hitchins: thank you Helen, really appreciate your visit
Great reflection Tim ! Lucky the wind didn't blow !
tim hitchins: oh yes we were lucky with that one alright, glad you liked it Ferdi
I don't normally like graffiti Tim but in this case, allied with the excellent reflection, it makes a good picture.
tim hitchins: happy to hear that Brian, it is in a place not seen by too many people
Great shot .. wonderful colours. Graffiti is and always will be a difficult subject to tackle as there are so many social issues to take on board. Still looks great though.
My goodness, the lighting is something else in this one. Fabulous capture of the graffiti and reflection. (:o)
tim hitchins: thank you Rosalyn and have a great day 2mo....tim
Most graffiti in underpasses etc looks bloody awful, but this looks really festive. I suppose it must be the way it's lit, which brings out the colours.
tim hitchins: festive, well thats one way of looking at it
At first i wasnt too keen on the sky, but grew to like it as i watched it, a nice capture !
what's not to like? the subject, lighting, color and reflections are awesome!!!
tim hitchins: well i am really happy you thought that, most appreciated
Another tantalising shot. Well done. Love the contrast of cold and warmth.
tim hitchins: cheers jamoula
Nah Tim it's still bloody vandalism, catch the b'stards, flog 'em and hang 'em
Great shot tho' you have handled the ecposure spot on. Not sure if the view above the bridge helps, try scrolling the screen to see what I mean. Excellent shot tho' like it a lot.
tim hitchins: yes i agree with you comment George about the crop, just as i wanted to call it urban i wanted to try add some more of the surrounds to it ie bridge/railings,crane, but i did take some under the bridge which i will be posting soon, most appreciated
huu..a positive side of vandalism. great shot. great reflection. nice job tim!
tim hitchins: thank you so much, most appreciated
