just one more to go
Fabulous capture
tim hitchins: cheers mate
Another lovely exploration of movement. I agree with you, the balance in this photo comes from the modern with the old.
tim hitchins: thank you Jewlya and have a good day, most appreciated
These blurry picture of yours are a joy indeed. The tunnel entrance with the old guy frowning at the fast train is a definite plus. Just so excellent - likey.
tim hitchins: thank you so much Louis really am happy you liked it so, cheers
Another stunning capture. 'When history meets the future' Great work Tim
WOW!! I'm just blown away by the speed of the train going into what looks like the entrance to the underworld...Brill
I liked the b&w and I like this too. Sad to see the tunnel defaced by graffiti though.
wonderful.....I liked every one of these, and you can be sure if I can find an accesible tunnel nearby I'll be trying this myself....I can almost hear it thundering past.
Ah! The full picture! Nice colour.
A great contrast indeed, but I think I preferred the black and white version - more mysterious.
Ingrid
cool Tim, beam me up. mal
Beautiful motion shot Tim. I like the colours and the past/present confrontation!
Another great capture, well done.
Superb! Absolutely superb! The sharpness/detail of the tunnel, the motion of the train with the colors infused.. Ah this is a joy to look at. I must log into my old shutterchance account and like this one lol
Very well done Tim. And yes, I need tips from you on these motion shots mate lol..
Love the old bridge with the head and coat of arms. The graffiti is a shame but blends in with the colours of the train.
Great shot and well captured Tim
Terrific tim. richard
Hehe, now that's clever, the train's livery matches the graffiti!
One heck of a good picture too.
Slick as a whistle, Tim!
tim hitchins: lol cheers Ginnie, as always
I just love this picture. I have a thing about bridges and tunnels, and this one looks lovely. But the action of the train is great too. All in all, for me, a great photo that I wish I had taken.
tim hitchins: most appreciated Sheila and have a nice day 2mo
There's traditional train shots and then there's your Tim, and they have all been interesting. Be interesting to know if you used a tripod at this shutter speed.
tim hitchins: yes i did Brian, it was a case of picking the composition, locking the focus and then just waiting it was just so i didn't mess up as they come by pretty quick especially when it was coming out of the tunnel
I agree with your comment, intersting mix of old/new. On my screen here at work the green in the bottom left corner is a little bit to much green imho - takes away a little bit of the attention from the train and tunnel...but as always, that's me
You are having a lot of fun with this tunnel, but so am I. The contrasts work a treat.
tim hitchins: most appreciated Martin i am so glad you like it friend
Fabulous...fabulous...what a timing...I am impressed, a likey to me, you must be thrilled that it turned out that way.....!!!!
love the composition very much with it.
tim hitchins: a big thank you from me Astrid, i did spend some 3hours or so and ten trains passing to get it just right but i feel it was worth it
Lovely shot. Though I think it'd be even cooler if the left side was burnt in a bit and also slightly desaturated so the brightness wouldn't distract. Good work though!
tim hitchins: cheers for your thoughts Urv, i will have to get my son to show me what to do
Nice piece of work Tim.
What a great series. It really does look like a portal to hell... and the graffiti are sinister too.
I like the contrast- the train as a symbol of High tech-future, of our modern world-quickening and speeding up...and nobody knows where this will end..
This is awesome Tim simply outstanding capture. Great work and timimg with this image well done.
tim hitchins: well thats most appreciated, i set the camera up on a tripod and fixed the focus so i could concentrate on the timing, it did take several goes though to get the shutter speed right
Great shot indeed! I like the composition of tunnel and contrast in this photo. well done.
tim hitchins: well thats a big thanks from me Arash, i did put quite some time into these shots so your comments are most welcome and appreciated
Great shot Tim. Love the colors here.
tim hitchins: most appreciated scarlet
FANTASTIC!!! This is the best yet!
tim hitchins: thanks martie, really appreciated.
Good capture, I like the colour graffiti as it goes with the train.
tim hitchins: i almost rang out of paint, lucky eh lol, cheers Nigel and have a good weekend.
Great shot Tim - I see the graffiti is colour coded with the train ;o)
tim hitchins: lol yes it was lucky i had them colors on me
There is so much of interest in this image - excellent sense of motion, and the textures and colors of the tunnel structure are great. I also appreciate the juxtaposition of modern and ancient.
tim hitchins: thank you so much matey, your perspective is just how i see it cheers
I really love this and I think more because of the way the colours pop out on the train
tim hitchins: well thats most appreciated Jide, you ahve some wonderful stuff in your archives for sure
when i first saw this loading top down i thought...here is another boring wall shot (not from you specifically...just generally
then i was like whoooaaaaa! cool! excellent. I love the colour offset between the train and the wall. Its almost painted on
This is a belter, Tim! Love the movement of the train and the really sharp detail on the tunnel entrance. The little details of the graffiti catch my eye, esp. mixed with the old crest and face. One of those images you look at time and again, and see something different each time.
tim hitchins: thank you so much Rob really appreciated, i spent probably 6 hours there on 3 visits getting these shots but to be honest i loved it, bit frustrating to start with getting the exposure times wrong, but once i had got that bit right it was great seeing how they turned out, loved the whole experience even down to listening to the dear in the woods
Great catch!! Bit scary stood there tho!
tim hitchins: ha yes i guess it was Mike, made sure i was going to lose my footing i can tell you
You have so much fun with your photography.
Terrific composition and absolutely love the motion blur of the train and the colorful streaks created.
love the colours: the train and bridge. clarity of the pic. wonderfull. it must have been a bullet train
tim hitchins: afternoon m8, well not quite a bullet train but been so close to the tracks it sure did feel quick, much appreciated and i hope your inspired to do something similar
most definitely
I'm loving this shot. I work near the track for the channel tunnel rail link and I'd love to get a shot of the train but the fences are very high!
tim hitchins: yes i was lucky in the fact there was no fences at all to spoil the view, quite remarkable really, must be as this is near a posh suburb with little trouble from vandals. Most appreciated Gingey
