having missed the gorillas in the mist i wondered into the swinsty woods to see if i could see any other local wild life lol, sorry to say it was much too dark till i came across this wonderful patch of light
Wow! very nice! What time of day was it?
tim hitchins: cheers Chal about 7.30am i tnink it was rather dark in the woods but lots of sunshine outside them
It's magical, Tim. It's where the Ewoks live.
tim hitchins: thank you kindly Ginnie
Very atmospheric
Black and white and shadows work brilliantly in this shot. Superb Tim
tim hitchins: cheers mate, yes i tried a colour one but it just didn't come across like this, got a few more idea's out of this though which is a bonus
Spooky.Hmm.. this gives me an idea for a picture though.
Like the way light illuminates the woods. B&W seems like a great choice here.
tim hitchins: well i am so happy to hear it Radel m8, look forward to seeing the results
Spooky
tim hitchins: lol cheers vintage
Terrific light ...and b and w for certain. richard
tim hitchins: cheers Richard, yes tried color but it just didn't come across like this
I could imagine soldiers prowling towards the camera, very daunting. Great work yet again my friend.
tim hitchins: lol yes i suppose you could, cheers m8
I can't imagine this being better in colour. I like the combo strong light/dark forest - I can choose where to live....or do I look at this with the darker side of me....I like it
tim hitchins: ha the dark side of Askel now that sounds interesting
Looks a bit like the Baconbuttie Hills. Love it! Great as a b&w
tim hitchins: most appreciated Bill
Great mysterious or even mystical shot. Great in B&W
tim hitchins: cheers Ian, yes it was something i was looking for what with the low sunshine and lots of tree's, it didn't take long to come across this

So, so good. B&W is just right. Wonderful feeling radiating from this wooded landscape, it really speaks to my imagination.
tim hitchins: and i am so happy to hear that Jose, coming from you i will take that comment with a big grin on my face most appreciated and have a nice day
Great atmosphere Tim, I reckon you've gone from black to white and all the shades in between with this one.
tim hitchins: yes Brian it did turn out rather better than i expected in mono

Love this stunning shot, the lighting is very good, love the B&W..love the atmospere, love the spooky in it.
Ok, so everyone else has already used the adjectives that immediately came to mind: spooky and moody. How about mystically atmospheric?
It is a wonderful patch of light Tim. B/W works very well here. Agree it is very spooky looking. I'm sure a few wildlife are watching you well doone Tim. I enjoy the woods.
This is really mysterious Tim: I really cannot work out what time of day you took it
I love this place Tim, and I've never been there.
Pure magic, Tim. A lonely distant figure in between the trees would give the shot more mystery and suspense, me thinks.
Lovely shot Tim, love the light between the trees.
Amazing light in this forest! I like!
Like everyone else, I think the B&W was the right choice.
It's a wonderful patch for sure mr Tim. Excellent capture and processing. Likey.
tim hitchins: most appreciated Louis
Beautiful capture of light thru the trees in the forest. Evokes a sense of mystery. Makes me wonder what lies beyond?
tim hitchins: well thank you so much Marcia really happy you thought that
absultely love it, likey. the funny thing is I drove past a patch of woods comingback from the beach last night, that looked very similar to this in terms of light, could'nt stop the car though, with the kids, i'm kicking myself even more now, even if I had it wouldn't have touched this shot.
A forest full of mysteries and fairy tales!
This is neat -- looks like one of the forests in The Lord of the Rings!
