Fantastic tunnel - and I really enjoy reading about the history of it as well. The capture of the movement of the train is superb - it almost looks like something out of sci-fi with the end of the train vanishing! This is a "likey" for me!!
tim hitchins: thankyou so much martie i am really happy you liked it so much and here is a link that gives you a brief history of the tunnel http://www.bramhope.org/brtunnel.htm it is worth the read
Tim, this is sweet. The movement is wonderful, in part because of all the colors. The entryway into the tunnel works wonderfully, as does the crispness of the environment. What amazing timing on this shot. Did you have your camera on continuous shooting?
tim hitchins: cheers Jewlya the entrance is a superb view for sure and i am so glad you liked it so much, as for the continuous shooting no i didn't it was a case of trial and error and after several goes i finally nailed it with that 1/10 shutter speed
Great shot Tim! Transforms the mundane into something different
Superb timing. Love the way the bright colours of the train fade into nothingness.
tim hitchins: this was my 7th attempt mate so i guess i had to get it right eventually
wow great capture, Thanks for the information Tim
tim hitchins: will post a link to its history vintage it is really worth a read and thank you very much for your thoughts
Fantastic image and it pays a wonderful tribute to the men that sadly lost thier lives building the tunnel. John
tim hitchins: thank you so much John and yes i never thought of it like that but i guess it does, cheers.
Fabulous image tim ... and the blurb is fascinating... richard
tim hitchins: the history to it really is worth reading Richard i shall post a link to it, cheers.
WOW this is truely amazing Tim, along with the info
Love the colours in the bridge and the textures. The train almost blends in
tim hitchins: cheers Tracy you wouldn't believe the fun i had getting this
This looks almost spooky with the bright colours contrasting with the dark gothic architecture. I am amazed that you are allowed down there to get such a close shot.
Ingrid
tim hitchins: most appreciated Ingrid, i think as its in a posh suburb Bramhope and probable no vandals or idiots about, much to our delight no fence at all
I like this and agree with all that has been said. The little tower is intriguing - does it contain a spiral staircase ?
tim hitchins: hi mate yes apparently some of the high ranking workers actually lived in it, there is some stairs in it and you can get into it but we were pushed for time so maybe have a look when we go back, glad you liked it
Wow Tim, this capture of the ghost-train is superb!! This is a "likey" for me...
tim hitchins: most appreciated Chantal really happy that you liked it so much
What a fascinating image! Great shot Tim.
Superb capture Tim
Fantastic shot. Great mix of old and modern, and I hope someone in the transport industry pays you a fortune for it!
tim hitchins: lol that would be a blessing i'm skint lol, cheers Ryan and have a goodnight mate
Quite amazing photograph, has almost a sci-fi feel. I'll be waiting for the entrance shot, if it is anything like this.
great effect - looks like a fascinating place
tim hitchins: evening Paul and cheers, yes its in Bramhope the posh bit, not too easy to find but then when you do know its easy to get too and well worth a visit mate
Good work. I like the contrast between the old brick and the colorful rushing train.
tim hitchins: cheers Martin glad you liked it mate
Good timing Tim to capture this the way you have. I like the almost transparent bit on the left.
tim hitchins: cheers Brian most appreciated
Well you certainly pressed the shutter at just the right momant Tim. I love these grand tunnel entrances
tim hitchins: ha it took 7 go's Bill but was well happy to have persevered

tim hitchins: thanks Draw and yes the son has bought a camera with his processing skills with the right image he will be one to watch out for

tim hitchins: ha most appreciated Radel, i am the sort of fella that would be more then happy to try and give you any tips i possible could mate, just shout
Tim, This is briliant, deep respect for this shot, love it, thank you for the great infromation with it, it must have been so much fun to be with your son taking both this picture, his turned out to be great too
Top notch excellent, likey. You just keep stumbling about
How clever is that shot! Very effective.
What an unusual railway image. Might be a daft question, but was it coming or going? Trying to get my head round how the shutter action affects a moving subject. With flash, 1st and 2nd curtain flash gives a different effect. Not sure what happens without it.
tim hitchins: well soz for the late reply m8, the train was coming out of the tunnel, thats something that puzzles me as i would think it was going the other way, interesting how a camera see's trhings.
superb, very catching title too, I love it!!
J'adooorreee ... quand je viendrai à Leeds en vacances, je t'amènerai un filtre Cokin pour jouer avec la vitesse
tim hitchins: ha well i would be happy to show you the highlights of Leeds for sure France, will just goggle that sentence
Amazing
The head at the top of the arch appears to be watching over the passengers.
tim hitchins: cheers m8, well i guess we were no more than 10feet away so it was close for sure the eerie bit was the air been forced out of the tunnel as it approached that really felt a bit surreal
It's like a brush stroke over a picture. very very cool!
tim hitchins: cheers Nadine any good shots with the ten stopper
This is Awesome!! Amazing what a little bit of motivation and persistance can do. Keep up the good work and follow your heart.
tim hitchins: oh i will cathy, most appreciated and have a nice day
