Such gentle eyes. Did you see that poignant picture in the papers of a gorilla holding her dead baby? It was very touching
That's a very pleasing picture Tim - the crop is most effective
This made me laugh, Tim, because i read vthe first line and then the image appeared.
Wow, except for the colours in the eyes, I would have said nice B&W. Nicely cropped.
Very good I like it.
faascinating eyes Tim, they seem to look right into your very soul.
I think the marks on the glass have helped in a way as you conentrate on the one eye fully in focus. She has such intelligence and sadness in her eyes. I know zoos do a great job in preserving species, but it breaks my heart to see animals like this in captivity.
Ingrid
nice! the black and white works really well here.
Those yeys are pleading for a banana. Great shot.
Well seen and taken shot Tim. Bill beat me to mentioning the picture in the paper the other day that was very touching.
Great crop close up. She looks a little sad.
Nice capture
Nice picture...so close to the eyes that you can see into the soul...thats good!
I´m a really big fan of this animal.... Good composed and it seems good in monocrome too!
Such expressive eyes, the windows to the soul.
Splendid, Mr H. Enjoy your break
Yes.. I wonder what she's thinking, too! Probably she's wondering where she can get a decent camera to take photos of all the funny people that she sees!
God Almighty! You gave me a scare Tim. I saw the title of your post on the feed, clicked to open it expecting to see a photo of your MUM and nearly had a heart attack! lol
Anyhow, great shot. Glad she allowed you to get so close.
Serious sort of lass.
Something a bit haunted about this one Tim. Good stuff.
Oh, I love her eyes and the deep "human" expression in her face, a wonderful portait! Icould recognize thoughts/feelings of care and love in her face! In my home town we now have to deplore the death of a joung Gorilla baby, born some months ago, but he was neglected by his gorilla mum, but now she is so sad that she is carrying the dead baby with her,for apes as I read in our local newspaper are sometimes mourning some months for their dead family members and they would never give them away- very moving, isn't it? I very hope that your mum and her baby in Chester are well and will be well!
Nice - and I'm not sure my mum would like me giving the pic that title....
Just beautiful.
Maybe wiser than many humans...it must have been great to watch hear eyes.
Amazing----she was looking at you(ole grandad-smiling) as if to say..."take care of that grandchild of yours---- our babies are indeed the most precious gift God has given us."
interesting shot.
Great image! Nice detailed study.
mum looks intense......................
nice one tim.
pity about the glass-we witnessed an all out chimp fight at the zoo in Honolulu--got some great shots however the glass was really marred and dirty, so nothing to really show for it. Was fascinating to watch tho I wish they weren't in a zoo for all to see. Anyhow your lady's face is very expressive and it's a great frame/drop.
tim hitchins: yes zoo's hmmm some like some don't sad but without them given another 10/20 years it will be the only place to see most of these wonderful animals, appreciate your comment though Dawn
