To mine and Laura's surprise these deer are left to just wonder around no fences to stop them straying and we actually got really close much to our delight, these were in the grounds of Fountains Abbey
Wonderful capture Tim. I like that they are all looking in the same direction. Nice crop!
Tim how lucky were you to get so close to these deer, WOW.
You captured them wonderfully. By the way it's the beginning of the week you should not be running wild
tim hitchins: lol, no not me maybe 30 years ago
Looks like feeding time is approaching Tim
tim hitchins: it probable was Chris they didn't seem too bothered about us at all
Beautiful animals - love the little house to the right
tim hitchins: well that was well spotted Askel
WOW, they are so magnificent and the fact you were able to capture so many together and looking in your direction.
tim hitchins: yes Kevin think we were really lucky, we actually came as close as maybe 15 foot of one of them, quite intimidating at the time, he just gave us a wink and walked on lol, and i aint joking,
They must be quite tame Time to let you take them undisturbed. Nice arrangement.
tim hitchins: yes Brian for sure they must be, no fences anywhere just left to roam around which was a joy to see, most appreciated
If these are red deer, Tim, you have so elegantly portrayed my namesake! HART. Thank you kindly.
tim hitchins: ha, never thought of that Ginnie, happy you liked it and have a nice day
Amazing sight Tim. Look at those antlers, You were lucky they wanted to model for you
tim hitchins: yes it was Scarlet and i was most surprised to find that you could walk around there grounds so freely, and even more so when one came for a closer look at us
They must have got used to people, on exmoor they were virtually invisible during the day.
tim hitchins: yes they surely must have Bill, when one walked up towards us i was really quite apprehensive what with the size of them, but i think he just wanted to see what we were up too, it was quite a sight
You did well to capture these guys. I was there back in the summer and they were resting in the shade. Ass soon as they saw me start to move towards them, they were stirring themselves to run so I left them alone. Great "racks" (as the Americans call them)to these guys.
You were at the right spot at the right time, this is an unique picture, I am amazed that they posed for you....lucky you.
tim hitchins: Astrid one of these actually came right up to us within 15 feet at the most i was a wee bit worried and told Laura to get behind me, he just looked at us for some time then just walked off it was a special moment for sure
Magnifiques Bois. Quelle prestance !!
I never succeed to see them ! Good shot, Tim.
tim hitchins: most appreciated Fabrice, i hope you get the chance one day
Nice one Tim. You are very lucky to get so close. the last time I was this close to a dear I smashed my BM up in Germany. At least your shot had a happy ending, unlike my poor BM
tim hitchins: we were m8, one of them actually came within about 15feet and was just looking at us, i told Laura to get behind me just in case, quite intimidating close up, speak soon m8
