the mist's of time.
striving to get good at these seascapes, not everyones cup of tea but i love em:) Notice of caution lol. if any of you plan to visit this part of the coast namely Flamborough and walk out of the bay turning left.Dont like me on hearing the big warning hooter look out to sea and think "whats he blasting that out for the sea is miles away" and ignore it. Oh dear as i found out as i finally decided to walk back the edges of the bay get cut off first lol. So there was me at one side of a flooded river and 4walkers at the other side saying "use ya brollie like a walking stick to poke at the floor" not much use that idea after realising i had no choice but to go for it as it simple opened up under the wieght of water lol. Now i know all about the saying "up a creek without a paddle as i certainly was lol". So after wading through 3feet of water for some 20 feet or so tripod in one hand and useless brollie in the other and camera bag strapped round me neck i was pulled out much to my sheer embarrassment by the bemused walkers. oh i bet that coast guard up on the cliff was laughing his socks off,lol so be warned.

I love these too much, I think I'll have a cup for lunch and dinner as well.
Keep them coming.
tim hitchins: lol and why not Mroy, have some cake to go with it too
beautiful landscape shot.
tim hitchins: well thank you very much Chichi
We are forewarned, Tim, but in the meantime, we get the benefit of your near-fiasco! Such photos never get boring to me!
tim hitchins: lol yes Ginnie the coast guards were on strike too that weekend so that would have been interesting ....not.
So happy to hear you think that Ginnie
And the ten stopper is back.............another lovely one! Still waiting on those tatoos!!!!
tim hitchins: lol i had forgot Ada, will forward them tomorrow when i have more time and cheers Ada as always
The photo is fabulous. I wish someone would have taken one of----you know--- that someone up that creek without their paddle.lol Now that, I'm sure we would all like to see.
tim hitchins: lol i am sure you would have cathy, i can laugh now but at the time with the camera gear and all one slip/trip and those peeps on the other side would have been shocked with the out-burst for sure lol.Cheers cathy most appreciated as always
It's extrordinary ... your on a par with mal.
richard
tim hitchins: ha well maybe not but its a great compliment for sure Richard, will get there one day just hope the bus pass doesn't come first
Well I think you know where I stand regarding this brand of tea.....can't get enough..lol.
Lucky you for getting back safely and a bit of humble pie once in a while is good for you!! This is really nice Tim and I like the way the light is catching the rocks.
tim hitchins: humble pie indeed and what a plonker i looked wet through walking back to the car lol.
Cheers matey
Funny story Tim, but I bet it wasn't funny at the time! I do like this one, but as the colours aren't particularly interesting, it might look more dramatic in b/w, do you think?
Ingrid
tim hitchins: your spot on Ingrid but as yet i havn't mastered the art of converting to B&W keep trying different ways but as yet have not been impressed with the outcome but i will keep trying for sure and no it was not funny at all lol. Most appreciated Ingrid
thats 158s shutterspeed really paid off... love the misty water...

tim hitchins: cheers mate and see you soon
Lovely shot Tim.
tim hitchins: thank you so much Sesan
Lovely seascape Tim, sometimes this effect can be overdone but here it fits in just right. Take it we are forewarned following your recent dilemma!
Glad you, your camera, and this shot survived intact. Were seascapes NOT my "cup of tea," this shot would have set me on the course of becoming a believer!
Ha ha..... I can just envisage the coastguards sending in the tape to 'People do the strangest things' on Digital channel 98
A wonderful photograph, Mr H, beautifully done. Excaliber shall rise from the mist at any moment
Love this effect...
Very nice and inspiring image.
PS thanks for the warning
Lovely experience - it is what makes life interesting - the follies.
Excellent picture and worth a wade.
tim hitchins: lol no it wasn't mate especially the drive back to camp in only me wet boxers
I can imagine your situation and your experiences, remind me a little of a dangerous walking excursion across an Irish high moor landscape with so many holes and only some tufts of grass which we had to catch step by by step. Later on I stroked my mountain shoes because they have carried me so safely along the holes!-
I love your seascape pic with the rough rocks, but the water has lost its glittering (vaseline?), looks a bit like mist, that might have inspired the title which could provoce a longer contemplation- yes, this metaphor can express some essence of time, past time and future, but self our present time has often the character of mist. I 'm not sure if I have understood your pic, but i find it moving and inspiring and your story is impressive!
I used to think these long exposure shots were magic until I bought my own filter - spoils the fun completely once you can "do your own".
Getting caught by tide was a favourite pastime of mine - I managed to loose a Mitsubishi Shogun whilst photographing seabirds about 10 years ago!
tim hitchins: woah Mick your so right mate, its so boring taking these sort of shots that i think i will concentrate my efforts on flower shots in the future lol
well this picture's worth the effort tim
tim hitchins: well i am so happy you think that Doc, cheers.
This is an incredible shot - I can just about feel and smell the mist. All your pictures are wonderful - my favorite is the baby chimp. You captured his inner spirit!
tim hitchins: well thats a big thank you flying over the Atlantic to you Beth, most appreciated for sure
I bet it's fun to take pics like this even though it's not my favourite cup of tea....I would love to try taking a pic like this...
tim hitchins: well go for it mate
super shot...lovely tones...and a long exposure too. I am a sucker for the mist of sea under time induced manipulation
tim hitchins: cheers Liam and yes me too, i love these kind of shots, would love to be able to spend more time doing them. Have a nice day Liam
Wohoow 158s exposure time!
Great job!
tim hitchins: cheers and glad you enjoyed looking through the archives, will be over for a trawl through yours tomorrow, i am off to bed
